BXCSA - Makeup Design (Day 3: Choose your own adventure!)

What are some things that inspire you? Shapes? Placement? A Halloween costume?

Today is about play - it is our last full on Makeup day, so try the things you were nervous about, and use each other as a resource for inspiration! I am also introducing paper with head shapes if you want to sketch out/test your ideas - or communicate them to a partner to try.

*If you are not interested in continuing with makeup today, there are body-forms and materials to continue building out costuming ideas - the crazier the better!

What inspired my look:

Rum Tum Tugger from Cats the Musical!

Some examples of transforming unusual stuff into costume pieces:

BXCSA - Makeup design (Day 1: Old People)

Looking at:
The power of contrast (especially under stage lights/at a far distance)
Utilizing the natural structures of the face (makes the makeup believable, is a support/guide)
Creating a sense of our character using edges, shapes and hair structures (including eyebrows!)

+ 20 minutes

Plan:
Intros
Look at and discuss images
Demo - answering questions as I go
Practice on self or each other
Make wigs out of scraps (interpretive)
Fotos of final look with lighting

+ 45 minutes

***Leave time for everyone to clean up their faces and stash materials
