Mark-Making and Texture Play @HHSLT - Dani's Lesson / Blog takeover

Mark-making is an important element that helps build shapes, show form, creates depth, and adds detail to our work.

The different types of lines and marks we make can change how an artwork looks and feels.

A closer look:

We begin with simple lines and marks, then gradually layer and build them up to create texture and depth. By experimenting with different marks, we can make our artwork look more detailed and visually interesting.

Task:
+ Split two sheets of paper in half (or use 4 sheets in sketchbook).
+ At the corner of each section, label accordingly: hairy, scaly, cracked/sharp, flowing.
+ You will have 5 minutes to fill up each section with marks/textures that you feel best fit the prompt.
+ How many different ways can you fill the section based on its particular prompt?
